Her are some notes & photos from recent events during late 2024:

FASHION SHOW: CCu3a held a Fun Fashion Show in aid of 2 local charities, Katherine House Hospice and MACE, a local Alzheimer charity.

Our Theatre Group ladies, especially Carole and Jackie, worked very hard for several weeks preparing for the event.  Most of the “pre- loved” garments came from the Katherine House Hospice shop in Hednesford and were for sale after the presentation. Our models ( including a couple of very brave men) were all volunteers and members of CCu3a, who strutted the catwalk with poise, glamour and much humour.  Our compère was Dianne, a former Chairperson.  Tea, coffee and home made cakes were available, all donations were to the charities.

Another of our long time members, Pam, ran a stall of donated handbags, the proceeds going to MACE.

The whole afternoon was well supported by members and friends and was a great success and raised over £500 for Katherine House Hospice and MACE.  Well done everyone in our wonderful CCU3A.

LICHFIELD CATHEDRAL VISIT: 18 Members recently had a lovely visit to Lichfield Cathedral. A Guide took us around this beautiful medieval building telling us the history through the centuries and interesting facts. The Christmas Tree Festival was taking place and the Organist and Choir were practicing so we were serenaded as we walked round. A lovely visit in a lovely building with lovely Members and a great start to our Christmas festivities.

CHEESE & WINE SOCIAL. Another lovely afternoon at the Cheese and Wine Social. Many thanks to everyone who helped make it a huge success and also Cannock Ex Servicemen Male Voice Choir, who entertained us with Christmas songs.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH. Our annual Christmas Lunch was held recently at Beau Desert Golf Club. Lovely meal and great company. Many thanks to Maureen and Rob for organising the event.
